What is the difference between the art nouveau and art deco?

Art Nouveau is a style of 1880-1916 with floral lines.Beardsley and curves is an example. Art Deco came later (1920-1939) and is geometric, and more "modern" looking, serious, etc. Much of the architecture, such as Chrysler Building and the Golden gate bridge are examples.
