Decorate a college apartment?
I'm in college next semester and my best friend and I are getting an apartment together. She is a kind childish and I'm super girly. We each have our own rooms and bathrooms and she said I could decorate our living room, kitchen and dining too. I basically two parts to my question: 1.) When decorating my room and bathroom, I have no furniture but what is a blank canvas. Where can I find some cheap durable pieces that I transfer to my house when I graduate? Also, when are some cute decorating ideas? I love the type of house within matter with wrought iron and etc, but I still want to incorporate Yound and livliness! I also love pink and green. Where can I find cute accessories? 2.) For the chamber living and dining, we have antique furniture that is not our style. I have to work around it until we can save others. How do I upgrade and where I find cheap but classy looking for things to replace it? Thank you!
Check out fabric stores for remnants. For bedroom furniture, look an LL Bean catalog with all the furniture painted white and pastel. Any amateur can recreate that look with furniture store or flea market junk, with a few cans Krylon spray paint white. Also check out discount stores for "bed in a bag" type quilt sets and carpets. Also eBay and check out www.overstock.com for all kinds of interesting things. Enjoy.
